After the titanium sponge is hydrogenated, the first coarse crushing is carried out by ball milling, the large titanium hydride is broken into small particles, and then the closed-loop air flow mill is used to crush, refine and classify it, so as to prepare the fine titanium hydride powder.
The closed-loop airflow mill system uses high-purity argon as the abrasive medium, which has high argon pressure, fast flow rate, high working efficiency, no pollution to the powder, and can reduce the oxygen content of the powder. Moreover, while the titanium hydride is pulverized, the powder is classified under the action of a classification wheel to achieve the preparation of a fine, low-oxygen titanium hydride powder.


 


The working process and working principle of closed-loop airflow mill equipment are as follows: high-speed argon flow is used to realize ultra-fine grinding of dry materials. The equipment consists of airflow mill, cyclone collector, dust collector, air compressor, air storage tank, cold dryer, electric control cabinet, etc. During its loading operation, argon enters the argon compressor (air compressor), and the compressed gas is sprayed into the crushing chamber at high speed through the specially designed nozzle (Laval nozzle) at the lower part of the grinding body after being dried by the gas dryer (cold dryer). The materials are crushed at the intersection of multiple high-pressure air flows, and the crushed materials enter the classification chamber with the rising air flow, under the action of the centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotating classification turbine and the centripetal force generated by the airflow, the coarse and fine particles are separated. The fine particles that meet the particle size requirements enter the cyclone collector and the dust collector through the clearance of the classification wheel blades. The coarse particles are blocked out by the classification wheel blades and descend to the crushing zone to continue crushing, and the cycle begins again and again.
The effect of grinding titanium hydride powder by closed-loop jet mill is obvious. The closed-loop jet mill can crush titanium hydride powder with an average particle size of 250μm to a powder size D90 = 15-20μm, and the finest D50<6μm; and the crushed titanium hydride powder can be directly classified by changing the frequency of the classification wheel in the abrasive system, so as to obtain titanium hydride powder with uniform particle size and narrow particle size distribution range.
After being pulverized by a closed-loop airstream mill, the amount of oxygenation of the powder is low. In the process of grinding titanium hydride powder by closed-loop airflow mill, the whole system is closed-loop, and the oxygen content in the closed-loop system is controllable. Moreover, high-purity argon is used as the abrasive medium. Under the hedge of multiple high-pressure airflows, the powder collides and is crushed with each other, and the extremely fine powder adsorbed on the surface is washed away and ground off the surface oxide scale, so the oxygen increase of the powder is low.
